American Institute of Architects
USGBC LEED Green Associate
Registered Architect, Massachusetts #50045
My architectural experience extends more than 20+ years, with New England firms that are leaders in the design of research & academic laboratories, higher educational facilities and high end residences.
Previous to studying architecture, I was an academic chemist (Ph.D. Physical Chemistry UW-Madison, Post-Doctoral Fellow Tufts University), a background that is unusual for a registered architect but one which has afforded me unique insight in the design of research facilities across multiple design firms and continuing today with my own firm.
Integrated design respectful of context and building using sustainable design principles are the foundation of my work. In my career thus far I have guided 3 projects to certification from the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design program (basic, silver & gold levels).
My process is consultative and collaborative, with outcomes mindful of the unique needs and values of the client. Whether institutional or residential, I aim to improve human relationships, daylight and views within interior spaces, and connection to the environment through design. Expression of the beauty of materials set in a clean, open and modern layout can be seen throughout my work.
